ARDBEG CHÂTEAU D‘ESCLANS

The world's best rosé wine that surprised the world's wine critics

Chateau d’Esclans, a magical property, is situated in the commune of a La-Motte-en Provence in the heart of the department of the Var (up in the rocky limestone hillsides of the valley of Esclans away from the sandy flatlands). The original château-of which now only the cellar remains-dates back to before the 12th century, making it amongst the oldest subterranean structures in the commune. The current Château, inspired by the style of Tuscan villas, was built in the 19th century. The estate covers 267 hectares, of which 74 hectares are planted with excellent grapes for the AOP (Appellation d'Origine Protegee) "Côtes de Provence" wine. The vineyard will be expanded by another 60 hectares.
